Family Excitement

We had one crazy family fun day!! It all started with the usual when Daddy's home from work: loafing around for the morning in jammies saying "What should we do today?" until someone comes up with a decent idea (or we just commit ourselves to jammies for the rest of the day). Somewhere along the way I remembered that the Power Play group meets on Mondays now so we decided to take LH and LF to that. On the way there however, we got started talking about a dog and how much the kids would love one and why bother to wait, blah, blah, the usual. AH informed us she wanted a yellow puppy. So we decided to go out to the pet store after power play to see what we could see...

So we:

- went to power play
- got turned around on our way to a different pet store than our usual one
- got the van stuck in back-road pot hole
- waited for tow truck, got unstuck
- went to usual pet store
- got a PUPPY!!!! (golden, close enough to yellow, no?)
- cleaned
- chased Lexi/puppy around
- cleaned
- discovered we actually didn't keep the old animal crate and will therefore need a new one before bedtime
- took puppy outside
- cleaned
- took puppy outside
- dinner
- took puppy outside (starting to wonder if puppy has bladder infection...)
- put completely exhausted and cranky children to bed
- took puppy outside
- got the car stuck in the lake of a driveway
- pushed out car
- watched puppy act like she needed to go outside AGAIN, though she was out 10 minutes ago...

So anyway, BIG family day! And here are some pics of the latest family addition:

Her name is Charlie (LH named her in honor of a dog in one of her stories), she's a puggle (pug/beagle) and is 3 months old.

LH has found yet another "best friend"!

So now I'm sitting here in my exhaustion simply trying to stay awake until Daddy plays his hockey game so that he can bring back the kennel he just bought. I'm not willing to give the puppy free reign of the house even for the hour I'd be in bed before Daddy got home, especially because I'm already worried about finding a puddle after ignoring that last wimper to be let out...
