Aunty J, this is only available to the public in any way, shape or form for your sake. You've been whining so much for an update that I've been wracking my brain for something to share. Of course, wiping up yellow Lake Eries all day long has had me a little distracted lately, so the cute and funny things weren't exactly forthcoming memories...
This one however I would prefer to forget but probably never will.
I locked the kids in the van today. In a running vehicle... in the middle of a highly public place! (I have no idea if I was witnessed... I didn't exactly look eagerly around in the midst of my panic and shame.)
Oh, and not only did I lock MY kids in the van... I locked the DAYCARE kids in the van as well. I jumped out to grab something we'd forgotten and... apparently I bumped the lock somehow or other.
LH only knows how to unlatch the top buckle in the carseat she's in and could barely stretch enough to touch the lock. Not enough to pull it up mind you. But bless her heart she tried her best, and didn't give me any issues about the strange job she suddenly had.
My saving grace ended up being a complete fluke of a situation. I bought a booster seat for the one daycare kid who is big enough to fit last weekend, today was his first time using it. Thank goodness kids love to play in vehicles and buckle and unbuckle the seat belt for fun. He figured out how to unlatch his seat belt and then he scrambled up to the door and unlocked it for me. I can't even imagine how mortifying it would have been to have required BCAA or something to get the van unlocked for me...
Right now I'm blaming Daddy. He took away my key fob when he rearranged keys for Mom while we were away in Vegas. Usually I use the remote start to keep the air running for the kids and take the keys with me, even if it is just to step outside the van, lol, for this reason EXACTLY.
So needless to say... when we stopped later this evening at Grandma's to pick up some stuff we left behind the kids got to get out of the van and come inside with me! lol.
And this is why I've always been such a goodie-two-shoes... Karma HATES me.
