Front Page News

I sort of feel like I've won the lottery. Like all of a sudden I've just won, out of the blue, some marvelous prize. Something that wasn't really expected and something we felt wasn't going to happen any time soon. But it happened anyway. We are officially moving back home! Yes, even after 7 years established here, in our own house and everything, that little town is still 'home'.

Amid the excitement, I've been cleaning.

Amid EVERYTHING else in my life, I've been cleaning. And cleaning.

And more cleaning.

I really hope this house sells soon. Oh, and just for reference, our listing can be found at http://www.doraworks.com/
Yes, I know there are no pictures of any of the bedrooms in the house, even though there are four of them. As it turned out one of them was piled floor to ceiling with all the boxes I'd already packed with extras and toys that just cluttered up the house and garbage bags full of the stuff I have no idea why we keep. Our room is one of the smaller ones, stuffed with a queen size bed and a full bedroom set, so needless to say that doesn't exactly showcase our house well. And, unfortunately, the realtor was thoughtful enough to book the appointment during nap time so we wouldn't be too distracted and overrun by the munchkins, but that also meant that the other two rooms of the house were occupied by sleeping babies. They may have slept through the light show but even the realtor didn't deem it necessary. (Thank God! I need those naps to recharge for my next cleaning spree!!)
So far we've had quite a few lookers, so that's been inspiring at least. It's been officially up for sale for five days and we've had three people/couples in to look at it. I think that's a pretty good track record! Let's just hope someone really likes what they see very soon! There's not much to compare to it out here, according to MLS listings anyway, so if they want to be out here, for this price range, this is THE house! Or at least that's what I'm going to keep telling myself to keep my outlook high!

On the other hand, Lil' F's been having a really rough time with cold season. All the kids managed to get sick here in October and had a hard time shaking it, even Lil H. Lil' F's been the worst one though and as soon as we think he seems to be getting better the runny nose starts up again. He's also had a nasty cough, bad enough that he coughed until he puked quite a few times, and it's been around for at least a month. Most likely more but I've lost track (cuz it's been so long!) I actually took him into the doctor because we had a weird looking re-occuring rash on his back and belly. The doctor actually shrugged that off and got all concerned about his prolonged cough. He figures that LF has something called reactive airways (I think!), which is basically a pre-curser to asthma. Oh, and he pointed out that the odd rash that was happening on LF's face (which we thought was just his reaction to teething) is actually eczema. LOL, he's going to be my problem child, that's for sure!
So anyway, we debated it for a few days and I've been talking to just about anyone who'll listen about it, trying to decide if I really think that steroids and medication are necessary for a cough. But I don't want to be the reason he develops asthma either. After talking to a friend who's son is asthmatic I finally decided to go through with it though. She pointed out that it will also help LF's sleep at night because he'll finally be able to breathe properly. And I wouldn't be surprised if that's half his problem with not being able to kick these colds, he's just so sleep deprived lately. So I filled out his prescription this evening.
I was also worried about it because I didn't really want to have to hold him down, kicking and screaming, for six full breaths in order to administer the puffers. Even with the kid-friendly air chamber thing that goes with them I figured he'd fight me the whole time.
So, reluctantly, I sat down on the couch with him this evening to give it a first try. He frowns and kinda struggles against the little face mask as I put it against his nose but he doesn't freak out or anything. So I spray the puffer, hold him a little tighter because he is trying to pull the thing off his face a little. But then I pull it away to change from the first puffer to the second one and he points at the little chamber thingy and says "more"!!
Crazy kid.
Though that about cements it: I officially worry too much.
